11 Ways To Completely Revamp Your Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats. The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount. Item Level The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the variety of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item. The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet. When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an indicator of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor is possible using the level of the item. The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat. There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates how valuable an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzards actual level of the item. It's not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also change its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl. Item Stats Stats on an item are a significant part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level. Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher costs. Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all sizes and shapes. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item. All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges just like the other methods of rerolling. Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, item upgrades will include at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss. Another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis and the interface for comparing items will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once. Item Luck The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains. Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. The shields, armor and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140. Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created with the right ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it does not work. The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%. The luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent. The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This may block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
